I received an e-mail today, like many of you probably, estimating the date on which Notes & Domino leave IBM to become the property of HCL Technologies:
May 31 2019
As a reminder, the operation was announced last December and involves more than just Notes/Domino. The deal includes:
- Notes & Domino
- Sametime
- Connections
- Appscan (web and mobile application security)
- BigFix (endpoint management and security platform)
- Unica (marketing tool)
- Commerce
- Portal
So, the journey of Notes & Domino within IBM comes to an end after almost 25 years. Personally, that is the period where I started working with the products so it will mean a lot of changes in the near future. Sure it will be for the best! After all, #dominoforever!
I expect more information will be given at Engage on May 14 & 15th. This year it takes place in the capital of Europe, Brussels. You will be attending, won’t you? There are already more than 400 attendees. You can still join in Autoworld, a superb venue! All information can be found here.
The headline is misleading. In the text their is no proof point for it. Instead, it says “is expected …” which is much different from “is confirmed”. And in fact, currently the divestiture date is still open.
Hello Peter, I took your considerations into account and have edited the post.
Isn’t a bit weird a message sento from “IBM” with a reply to address “HCL” ?
from where did you get the email?
Hi Adrian, both the FROM and REPLY-TO are IBM addresses. The HCL seen is simply hcl@us.ibm.com.
